Security of Data

One of the most important features of working with educational technology is data security. Keeping files secure for the institution, administrators, teaching instructors, and students is an ongoing task.


How do we do this now? Security areas that are upheld currently concentrate on confidentiality, firewalls, well-being hazards, academic berries, and eliminating contact with inaccurate data (Lund, 2022). Maintaining appropriate policies, standards, and conditions for this phase of educational technology is paramount.


What are some concerns? Keeping data safe is presented in a very informative editorial by EdTech. Eli Zimmerman provides a well-structured three-point perspective on doing this. The overview of his three main points is assessing network security early and often, automatic network patching, and adaptation to prevent lateral movement (Zimmerman, 2019).


What are some changes that might change in the future? Many companies attempt to build and facilitate better technology to keep this data secure yet still accessible to the learner. A prototype from the following researchers is a prime example (Liu et al.,2020).
